Something small is turning into something big! And for those that like sitting in the front row or being backstage this could be something for you! Have you ever thought of hosting a home concert? Music fans all across the U.S. and Europe are hosting home concerts. The atmosphere, the structure of the show and ticket prices make home concerts unique as compared to club / concert performances. There are so many advantages of home concerts some are obvious the smoke and crowds but there's one that most of us, okay all of us music lovers would really enjoy. The up close and personal atmosphere that happens not only for us but also the performer. And that is something you can't get sitting in the 60th row!

In conversation, I recently asked Ronnie about these home concerts. If she has ever performed at a home concert? Ronnie: Yes, I have and they are a lot of fun! The home concerts that I have performed at are very layed back. The audiences have all been very attentive, every bit into the music and have all made me so comfortable. In this concert setting I play mostly my original songs but do, on occasion, play a request or two of cover songs. But mostly my show is my original music. For 90 minutes it's the audience and me.

Hosting a house concert is no different then hiring a DJ for an evening and asking everyone to pitch in a few bucks to cover the DJ! If hosting a home concert interestest you, here are some of the basics. Invite 25, 30, 50 or more of your friends and set your ticket price. Ticket prices usually are $10-$15, depending how many people will be attending. The fee agreement between the performer and host may vary with each performer but typically the artist gets 100% of the ticket sales with lodging included. Most house concert hosts sell tickets in advance to guarantee the artist's pay and to plan on how many people will be attending. And lastly, to help out with the other costs ... you know the food and drink cost, it's an audience participation. The audience members bring their own beverages, a dish to pass or snacks.

Hosting a house concert is a great way to introduce and share the music you enjoy with your friends in the comfort of your home. Your very own personal concert! Sounds like FUN to me! And there are a number of performing artists that would be willing to make your home concert special. And I think we all know who would top that list! You guessed it! A home concert with Ronnie ... now that sounds special!
