Deb Lopez is a songwriter and lead guitarist formally of Tomboy. Tomboy, an all girl rock n roll band, made its mark on the Milwaukee Music scene. Tomboy’s single “It Could Have Been You” received heavy local radio air play. The success in the Milwaukee scene led the band to New York to follow their dream in search of a recording contract.
It was in New York that Deb Lopez landed a Speculative
deal at Manhattan’s Power Station recording studio. While the band's
demo was being shopped for a deal in New York, a CBS Record executive met
the band and heard the demo. Very impressed, the CBS executive encouraged
the band to come to Minneapolis where they could be
introduced to Owen Husney who discovered Prince.
After returning to the Midwest, Deb took a break from the live scene to concentrate on her song writing. By focusing her efforts solely on writing, Deb was able to create some great new original material.
Recently Deb was out enjoying the Milwaukee music scene and caught Ronnie Nyles. After hearing Ronnie, Deb instantly knew she wanted to work with Ronnie on song collaborations and studio projects.
With her love for thoroughbred horses, Lopez recently penned Barbaro’s Song which paid tribute to the late Champion race horse, Barbaro. Barbaro’s song provided a great opportunity for Deb and Ronnie to work together. Lopez and Nyles went into the studio and recorded the song which is set to be released to the public May 14th. Currently Deb Lopez and Ronnie Nyles are collaborating on material for Ronnie’s upcoming new CD.

Celebrating May birthdays are Judy Gilliland (Antioch, IL), Andy Holcomb (the Krash Band) and Stella who celebrated her birthday with all her pals at Central Bark in Franklin, WI.
