WAMI Names Ronnie Best Female Vocalist:

On April 30th the Northern Lights Theater in the Potawatomi Casino in Milwaukee, Wisconsin was the place to be! The theater was rocking' with the 27th Annual WAMI (Wisconsin Music Industry) Awards Show.

GNO, front man for the WAMI award winning band "The Toys", hosted the show with high energy and a few wardrobe changes that included a tinsel wig and shoes on springs.

The Northern Lights Theater was not only filled with music and Wisconsin's talented music industry, it was also filled with an energy of fellowship and appreciation among the musicians and the public audience.

One of the many highlights throughout the evening was the performance by Ronnie and Krash rocking the audience midway into the show. Also treating the audience to some great performances were Bellevue Suite, Carry Nation, Alex Wilson Band, One Drum, Nashville Pipeline, Chris Crain and Company, Hindsight and Liam Ford & The Band in Black.

John Calarco moved the audience with a special performance honoring the memory of musicians Mike "Lightning" Sardina, Mark Pannier, Henry Townsend, Tom "Elvis" Green, Norris Cox and musician & club owner Wilbur Vanden Burgt. Each made countless contributions on the local music scene and beyond.

Guitarist / Songwriter Jim Krueger (who wrote Dave Mason's hit "We Just Disagree") and Milwaukee music merchant Bob Kames (who wrote "The Chicken Dance") were inducted into the WAMI Hall of Fame at this year's awards show . They join the likes of Les Paul, Michale Angelo Batio, Violent Femmes, Bad Boy, Al Jarreau and Liberace just to name a few.
